Director of Operations

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • The Director of Operations is a licensed professional and Registered Nurse who has twenty-four responsibility and accountability for an Austin Emergency Center facility. The Director of operations requires skills and knowledge of leadership in administration, principles of effective teaching and learning, human resources management, financial management, effective communication, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Provide patient care for all ages in compliance with policies/procedures required by the Licensure of the State of Texas for free-standing emergency centers and the standards of professional nursing practice as defined by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
  • Head of nursing, radiology, and front office departments. Also provide conflict resolution for all facility issues, and collaborate with department leads to ensure facility performance standards.

  • Has 24/7 responsibility and accountability of the operations of the ER.
  • Serves as primary contact for all internal communication.
  • Work closely with the medical directors in all aspects of patient care and operations.
  • Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and issues in collaboration with medical directors.
  • Responsible for hiring and termination recommendations to medical directors. As HR director, manage all human resources documents and files. Interviewing, hiring, corrective action and termination recommendations.
  • Monitor, coach, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with company performance standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly staff meetings in collaboration with Facility Medical Directors.
  • Ensure staff certifications are current, coordinate and track facility inspections, and ensure the ER is performing in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for daily operations, operating within the Departmental budgets, and identifies and implements cost containment programs.
  • Meet weekly with medical directors to review facility operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for implementation and education of all new policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Prepare or oversee delegation of monthly work schedule for all departments, schedule all PTO, and minimize overtime.
  • Review all department hours and process payroll through time clock management bi-monthly. Monitor employee’s benefits making changes when necessary. Ensure 90 day and annual evaluations are completed.
  • Responsible for covering any open nursing shifts in ER in the event no one is available.
  • Train new staff on how to use all clinical and laboratory equipment, follow policy and procedures, know their duties, and become familiar with the work environment.
  • Responsible for conducting regular inventory checks, maintaining spreadsheets of inventory and ensuring the facility maintains par levels of patient care supplies.
  • The Director of Operations will work 4 eight hour shifts a week( mostly administrative shifts) but will be paid for 40 hours a week. This is to allow for any hours that the facility manager may be called in to address emergent issues.

Executive Assistant

Executive Personal Adjunct needed to assist with all non-clinical duties of the business partners as well as day-to-day tasks and projects. 40 hrs/week.

Tasks will include: Spreadsheet data management and presentation for the partners’ evaluation; assisting with administrative tasks including correspondence management; marketing assistance; managing varied schedules. Vital and negligible tasks will be expected.

A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a concierge soul, be task driven and in alignment with visionary method.

We are looking for a detail oriented individual who is anticipatory in nature.

  • 4-year college degree, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Comfortable performing a variety of administrative duties.
  • Punctual and dependable; Flexible and able to multi-­task.
  • Ability to work independently yet also able to follow instructions.
  • Detail oriented; very organized.
  • Must have a laptop; skilled in MS-Excel and Google Documents.
  • Must have reliable vehicle. (Gas and Mileage are included as part of the hourly rate).

Admissions Representative

(Currently Accepting Applications for PRN, Days, Nights, and Weekends) Responsible for greeting patients and or guests in a professional, friendly and courteous manner. Register emergency center patients by obtaining accurate patient demographic and financial information.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with experience in collections.
  • Proficient in medical office computer software
  • Previous Admissions experience required, Emergency Room Admissions preferred
  • College degree required
  • Bilingual experience in Spanish preferred

Emergency Medicine Staff Physician

Austin Emergency Center offers an opportunity for emergency medicine physicians to work in a locally-managed, growing organization, founded, designed, built, and operated by local Emergency Medicine physicians. Emergency Room Technician (ERT)

  • Must be an EMT Intermediate or a Paramedic

Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray and CT)

PRN/Full-time positions available at our South Lamar location. The radiology tech performs X-ray and CT exams, assists with labs, starts intravenous lines, assists with procedures and various aspects of patient care. Full-time employees receive medical insurance paid by the company. PRN/Full-time both receive occasional bonuses.
  • High school graduate
  • BLS required
  • Completion of an accredited radiology program
  • Must have prior experience in hospital-based or imaging center, prior emergency room department experience preferred, and free-standing emergency room experience a plus
  • ARRT certified in radiology and CT
  • Texas state license required

Registered Nurse

Currently accepting applications for PRN days, nights and weekend shifts. The registered nurse will assess patients related to chief complaints and medical needs.  Administer nursing care to ill and injured patients both pediatric and adults.  Administer medications and treatments per physician’s orders.  Provide information on health maintenance, disease prevention and follow-up through discharge instructions and planning.

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a hospital-based or free-standing emergency center treating both pediatric and adult patients
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current Texas RN License
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS required
  • TNCC and CEN preferred
