Richard Kelley, MD

Medical Director, Austin Emergency Center, Anderson Mill

A practicing physician since 1993, Dr. Kelley received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey. His background included training in Family Medicine as well as General Surgery at a Level 1 trauma center in Shreveport, Louisiana before deciding to focus exclusively on a career in Emergency Medicine.

A health and fitness advocate, Dr. Kelley is also certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and has written extensively on the subject of how to optimize, maintain and shape the physical body, with a focus on longevity.

As a physician with Austin Emergency Center since its opening, Dr. Kelley embraces the philosophy and ideals of Austin Emergency Centers, that every visit to the ER can be an exceptional, comfortable and memorable experience for each and every one of our patients. Dr. Kelley lives in Austin with his wife, son and several peculiar house-cats. He is a jazz enthusiast and a life-long student of the electric and upright bass.
